MTV UK ends UGC TV: Flux

Started in September 2006. MTV is now pulling the plug on its User Generated Channel Flux, 1st Feb 2008 onwards. Flux community controls what goes on MTV. The more views a user gets, the more chances to be seen on TV.

FriendVox: Facebook Chat (no software download)

Earlier I blogged how social.im built a facebook chat which required users to download software. Today I discovered a Facebook chat which uses Ajax and is completely browser based.

Sun buys MySql for $1bn

In Oct last year I wrote how MySql is getting ready for an IPO. Today Cnet reported that Sun Microsystems has bought MySQL, the most popular open source database ,for $1bn.

Paypal adds a donation Application for Facebook

Paypal has added an application it calls the badge, which allows friends on your facebook profile to pay you cash. Paypal claims that its a great way to raise money (donation) and pay you back.
