So I met Andraz Tori after the Seedcamp event at OpenCoffee London. Very enthusiastic individual and passionate about developing Zemanta which facilitates blogging by suggesting links, tags, articles and pictures
It is a cleaver idea and I can certainly see the use it has for frequent bloggers. So I thought I’ll put it to the test. I copied some text from this page and added it to the demo page :

Tags and Link (Wikipedia) suggested:
My thoughts are that this could be a very useful resource. Although (and I’m sure Zemanta team is already on it) I feel that the suggestions need to be a bit more targeted. For instance I was expecting a few social networking providers who have a similar specification. Although most the links were about the technologies like PHP, AJAX etc.
I can see this would be a nice service to save time whilst blogging on Wordpress, Blogger etc. I’m waiting for Flock Plugin now

Raj, thanks for giving us a try. The suggestions are as such since you talked mostly about the technologies and we can’t really know that you wanted to know about other social networking providers. If you would write a full text about that, then it would be different. It’s just the way our recommendations work, we find what’s most prevalent in the text and try to optimize suggestions around that.
Our extension already supports Flock, but we don’t support Flock built in editor, as it’s a completely new platform and it would mean a lot of new development for us at this point. It’s on our wishlist, but not for near future.

Thanks Jure. I agree with you, please don’t take my thoughts as criticism. I can appreciate the complexity involved in understanding the nature of the text.
I’m confident things will evolve to more targeted suggestions
All the best !
