In the past I have not been shy to express my love for Dopplr. I have always been an advocator of Dopplr’s usability, although when it comes to functionality I feel TripIt hit’s the spot with its email functionality.
So I thought I’ll put it to the test I sent my La Baule (France) Investment conference hotel, flight reservations to plans@tripit.com. Note I didn’t make any manual changes i.e. the summary was created from forwarding hotel/flight confirmation.
Hotel confirmation:

Flight Confirmation: (easyjet):

Well there was a tiny problem tough, although the hotel confirmation from booking.com worked perfectly the Easyjet.com didn’t. The year of travel was shown as 2009. Is that TripIt’s fault ?
Not really! In easyjet’s itinerary it doesn’t mention the year:

Overall though it works and that is what really matters. Suddenly instead of spending 5-10 mins entering my travel details for my colleagues I can easily send confirmations to tripIt and Bam its added to my profile. Then it suggests what I can do at the venue, alongside: Car rental, restaurants, hotels and events. See all new features.
Whats better its now available on mobile phones and the shinny iPhone!
