Car Social Networks

Whilst you have social networks for several niches travel, startups, Business (French)… Why shouldn’t there be a social network for car lovers :)
In this section I will try list 5 of my favorite Car Social Networks in no particular order.

Carspace.com

CarSpace: Sounds and looks like MySpace Version 1.0 :). Carspace piggy backs on the success of automotive forums Edmunds (automotive review site) . The community is tightly packaged with links to Edmund.com. Its almost annoying when most of the links in the website (carspace.com) point to another site (edmunds.com). Wouldn’t it make more sense to add the community to the forums itself ?

3.1% of the users according to Alexa are based in Germany just after US which has 74.5% of the usership.

ebuga by you.

EBuga: Social network for car reviews. Its without doubt my favourite automotive social network.

Majority of the users on the site are based in Spain (77% according to Alexa). The site looks clean and is more inline with the modern social theme. You’ll find all the usual suspects: YouTube Videos, Google Maps, comments, ratings - nicely implemented. The site has a nice combination of local and international site activities.

zooped by you.

ZoopedUp has a unique approach it allows you to make an online garage. Challenge other car owners/cars to a ride battle. The community is most active in South Africa and its pretty obvious browsing through the site.

Boompa is user generated encyclopedia car site devoted to showing off, tweaking and cataloging anything that drives, flies, floats or pedals. Majority of the users are based in the US. Users can post news, add vehicles, guides etc.

Roadfly Home
Roadfly is an automotive portal with multiple brand specific channels. It allows consumers to gain access to a comprehensive menu of automotive solutions throughout the full life cycle of vehicle ownership.

myRide by you.

MyRide takes a different approach and allows internet savvy users to find everything automotive. It is not really a community site and is almost a custom Google for cars, although it is very targeted. Search on the site is powered by Vast.com.
