I would be the first one to accept that adopting Twitter took me sometime. For 6 to 9 months I had an account with no idea why I should use it. Now I’m seriously addicted to Twitter, there are so many things I have discovered which might be worth sharing

7) Send direct messages to people in 140 characters ! (Killer feature, not really, but keeps the message short and sweet. Just like text messages)

6) Good tool to discuss things with people in an open fashion. With that I mean, talk about something I feel would be beneficial to several people following me

5) It links to my Facebook and Plaxo so my friends and business contact know what I’m upto as well

4) Location based Twitter i.e. Twinkle allows me to know what is hot locally, whilst I’m travelling around. Very useful when I’m in London or abroad

3) Keep in touch with people you care. A lot of people find it really annoying to tell their story on the phone (especially guys) to friends and family. For instance my mother follows my Twitter to know what I’m upto nowadays. It is a little sad but true.

2) Make announcement and market things. Instead of spending time calling, writing on friend’s walls or spamming emails. I just twitter latest company related news in 2 mins.

1) Breaking news first appear on Twitter then Blog, then on television and next day on Newspapers. So if you are after breaking news there is nothing like Twitter. Start following BBC, FT, Guardian etc
