Project Brighton
March 16th, 2008
I stumbled upon Project Brighton last month. An initiative by Rosie Sherry to provide Brighton technology companies with a platform. It allows Geeks to meet with other non-technical/technical people who might need help with their website, software, hardware…..
Rosie is solidly blogging on the site and actively adding conferences, events, jobs etc. I think the idea has legs plus Rosie is dedicated to make it work. She has reduced her other commitment and is passionate to make Brighton the place for technology.
Also there is a plan to add ProjectBrighton badges for the community to add to their website, blog, app etc. Looking forward to it Rosie!

Kwiqq new site
February 5th, 2008
They say its always good to keep your site looking fresh. We have just done that and re-branded our website. Here is how it looks, Kwiqq V2:
We have made the site, so that users can really quickly browse through the Features of the Kwiqq Framework:

And see our client sites as screen shots at a click of a button:

This new site reflects the upgrade of our software. Kwiqq.com is built on Symfony as well, which is what Kwiqq Version2 is all about.

Creative Brighton
December 31st, 2007
In my earlier posts I have covered some Brighton based businesses, facilitators and entrepreneurs. Often individuals who make this possible i.e. designers, programmers, account managers etc are not covered. I thought it will be good to maybe give them a mention
One such group of very talented designers are Callender Creates and Subcircle creative, setup by Jim Callendar and Nick Carter respectively.
2 very talented designers who I can personally refer, having worked with them in the past. They are not only talented but very professional and dedicated. Their knowledge of the subject matter is absolutely amazing !
Callendar Creates focuses on CSS and XHTML services. More about Callender Creates founder
If you are looking for 2.0 logos and web page designs I would suggest checking out Subcircle. The speed at which logos and designs are produced are second to none. Check out some of their outstanding brand identities:

Kwiqq 2007 and ambitions for ‘08
December 26th, 2007
If you have been following kwiqq you might know that we began on 15th Jan 2007. In just a year we have seen some amazing results. We met some fantastic people in the community: Brighton (BNM), London, California, European etc.
I would like to thank everyone for being supportive and accepting funny accent multicultural (Raj) and skinny blond haired (Jack) :). Your advice and references are much appreciated! This year our achievements were:
- Kwiqq grew from 1 man band to a team of 11 people.
- Raj won BusinessWeek’s Europe’s Young entrepreneur 2007
- Jack spoke about Social Networking at several conferences like Ad-tech (Europe’s Biggest interactive marketing conference), Internet marketing conference (Sweden), 02 sponsored New Product Network, Mashup* Event and SEMN IP-Pitching organised by Wired Sussex
- Raj spoke on Entrepreneurship at Make Your Mark (YES Network), £5 App, Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurs at the British Council (with The Minister of State for Competitiveness, Stephen Timms MP)
- We are working with some fabulous clients like First Choice (2wentys), Highams PLC, Sussex Innovation Centre and SEEDA.
- We were covered in some major publications (online and offline) like BusinessWeek, Techcrunch, Hindustan Times, TTG, The Argus, Intruders.tv, Hobsons, Wired Sussex, Blognation etc.

Our ambitions for 2008:
I always think of ourselves as a very ambitious company. As you would suspect we have some targets for next year:
- Physical presence outside the UK. I will announce this once deals and our vision is finalised
- Officially launch version 2 of Kwiqq’s software with major upgrades in the server and front end of the software.
- Serve more customers this year, strategy includes increasing our sales force and development team.
- Concentrate on our product. Improve functionality and explore other undiscovered areas of social networking in areas like privacy, usability etc

Personal Objectives for 2008:
- Do more dance videos, one wasn’t enough
- Eating healthy food and no snacking (good bye junk food). I’ll try and join a gym, not sure if I’ll get the time though (atleast I’m honest about it)
- Continue my mission to get more young people into entrepreneurship. Its a wonderful thing which would help them in various spheres of life.
- Not wear suit and tie unless I really have to.
